Jalyukt Shivar

Jalyukt Shivar

Maharashtra has been one of the worst affected drought affected states. In an effort to improve its water woes and make it a drought-free state by 2019, Maharashtra Government launched the ‘Jalyukt Shivar Abhiyaan’. Collaborating with the government, we undertook repair work in the dam in Guthale, Shirwal. This resulted in the dam’s ability to hold water up to 12 TMC (thousand million cubic feet) and benefitting at least 1600 villagers. In addition to this, we also carried out repairs in a percolation tank and a community well in Adhale, Talegaon, which can now provide 8 TMC of water and benefit 1800 villagers.
